We have built many bespoke WordPress plugins, mainly to solve issues unique to a particular website, and these are generally not available as downloads. However the ones listed below have generally featured on more than one website.

Zone Marker

The Zone Marker WordPress plugin enables a user to mark out an area on a map that they need to submit to the website’s team. Currently this is targeted at drone operators so that the video area is defined before they quote for the job. Other options would be for specifying plant machinery e.g. lawn mowers, suitable for working in the submitted area, thus preventing over or under specifying what is required. Zone Marker.

Top Tips

This plugin enables you to add category-controlled tips to support your blog posts.

You build up a repository of tips, assign them to one or more categories. These tips are then randomly displayed next to or below blog posts that are assigned to the same category. So tips relating to SEO will display next to posts in the SEO category, but if the tip is only in the category security it will not be shown next to SEO categorised posts.

The display is customisable via the backend controls that manage the Top Tip logo and colours for the display block and text. If you have a related post or reference there’s an option to add a link to it which will appear below the tip.

Nearby Sites

This bespoke WordPress plugin checks that a submitted postcode is within a specified distance of a ‘site’. The backend provides full control of the ‘sites’ enabling the administrator to add new sites, edit, suspend, delete or delete existing ones. Nearby Sites

UK MOT checker

This enables a UK vehicle owner to enter their vehicle registration, that is checked against the DVLA database for its MOT expiry date. If the date is within 1 month a booking form is displayed to book the vehicle in for its MOT.

This can be extended so that in the event of the due date being over one month away the users can enter their contact details to be automatically reminded as soon as there’s only a month left until MOT expiry. An email can be sent out complete with a booking link.

Councillors

Designed to meet the legal requirements for local councils, parish, town, city etc. It enables you manage and display information about each councillor: name, contact details, time served, responsibilities interests etc.

Various shortcodes are made available that display the councillor(s) details for example if a page or post is about Planning the shortcode [gil-councillors-get style="responsibility" responsibility="planning" status=1 linked=1] can be used and this will list those councillors who are responsible for this, together with an active link to their profile. Other shortcodes are available or can be developed.

Modal Box

Include a modal box containing a page or post on a page. The page or post displayed in the box is specified in the shortcode.
